Really love this modifier, light is very evenly distributed. The photo was my very first shoot with it, camera is a Canon T2i with a 24-105mm L lens. Small lenses aren't the best for this, but my zoom lens is perfect for it. Only complaint I have it that it's not perfectly round but that's my OCD. As you can see in the pic you can't really tell. Super light wait, I can let it dangle to my side with my camera sling strap. Well built and the flash stays in place. You don't need a high output either on your flash, im using a YN560ii with about 1/8th power at a distance of about 2 feet.

It's a bit bulky but not bad. Really like the portability and the affordability. Kind of funky to get used to but does what I want, softens my flash on close ups. Needed a quick portable solution to soften flash in the field.

I love this pop up beauty dish. It’s an easy alternative when shooting in the field. It is rather large and can make handling your rig a bit difficult but the results are very nice indeed. If you are shooting a wedding or public event I would suggest seeking an alternate flash modifier as it may get in the way.

Seen something like on Instagram. And I thought it was interesting. Gave it a try and see. It takes time to play around with it to get the lighting that you wanted. But if you get the right angle, distance to the subject or even the right settings. It works great. But this is only for close up shots. If you are looking for something that you can use for close up portraits. Even on events. This is a good but. It's a bit funny looking. But it works.

I really thought this softbox would be counted as a mistake but after using it on three shoots I'm in love. It folds into an extremely compact bag, deploys and attaches in a minute or less and gives a nice diffusion to my LED lights. On the down side, the velcro straps can be a bit of a chllenge to properly position and don't seem secure, but they haven't let go yet. The way the box deploys, using shock cord rods with rare earth magnets, is ingenious and very effective even if it occasionally takes a bit of fiddling. This isn't a great softbox but it's the best one I've seen that packs so small, deploys so quickly, is actually effective and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Just remember though, if you're looking for the filet mignon of soft boxes, this is just a really good hotdog.

After receiving the soft box and installing it I realized that it might be a size to large. The light I'm using is the Neewer 660 which is a great all round light BUT after playing with it for a while I've decided that it will work out just fine. I like the larger frontal area with mid size box. I think the smaller one might cut the light down more than I want. I was also concerned about the fact the there was small areas on the back that were not covered but I don't think that will make any difference. Might even give me a little light to see the back panel in a dark environment. I can also use the barn doors inside the box and they can also be used to help secure it, especially the top one. Only time will tell as to how well the soft box will hold up but for the price and convenience I'm satisfied. I think I'll have another.
